Mr. Jones made his mark as a best selling author, publisher and internationally acclaimed motivational speaker who gained a reputation as an inspirational humorist and book evangelist. Before achieving tremendous success as a motivational speaker, Charlie Jones started off as an insurance salesman. In 1950—just one year after entering the insurance business with one of America’s top-ten companies—he was awarded his agency’s Most Valuable Associate Award at the age of 23. Ten years later Mr. Jones received his company’s highest management award for recruiting; manpower and development; and business management. At age 37, his organization exceeded $100 million in force, at which time he founded Life Management Services and Executive Books, later renamed Tremendous Life Books. His corporate mission was to share his experiences through seminars and consulting. For more than a quarter of a century, thousands of audiences in America, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Asia experienced nonstop laughter as Mr. Tremendous shared his ideas about life’s most challenging situations in business and at home. He was the author of Life Is Tremendous, a bestselling book about his 7 Laws of Leadership, with more than 3 million copies in print. Two of his speeches, The Price of Leadership and Where Does Leadership Begin? have been enjoyed by millions on audio recordings and at conventions. He was featured on a variety of radio programs, television networks and films ranging from the Dynamic Achievers World Network television series to the Insights into Excellence video training series. The University of Southern California, University of Tennessee and Pensacola Christian College are just a few of the institutions where Mr. Jones was featured as a guest lecturer. He also served on the advisory boards of several educational and non-profit organizations. In addition to being a dynamic speaker and businessman, Mr. Jones was also a great humanitarian, with a passion for helping individuals understand the value of reading. It was Mac McMillan whom Mr. Jones first heard say, “You are today what you’ll be five years from now, except for the people you meet and the books you read.” This statement eventually became one of Mr. Jones’s most quoted lines as he inspired individuals all over the world to read. He was born in Alabama and grew up in Pennsylvania. His beloved wife Gloria still resides in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Their marriage produced six children and seven grandchildren. He entered the gates of heaven on October 16, 2008. For more than 50 years, Charlie Jones was passionate about exciting people to read, think and share. In 2002, he received a Doctor of Humane Letters Degree from Central Pennsylvania College. In 2003, the college’s new library was named the Charles “T.” Jones Leadership Library. Through his publishing company and bookstore, Executive Books, Mr. Jones gave away millions of books, fulfilling his mission as a book evangelist. The legacy continues with the dedication of the Charles and Gloria Jones Library at Lancaster Bible College on August 8, 2012. The new library showcases small conference rooms, classrooms, computer rooms and offices. The unique feature is the cutting-edge technology that powers a new world of digital books, electronic periodicals and online learning that lets adult learners earn their degree from anywhere in the world, day or night. Facilities on the second floor provide space for tutoring, academic mentoring and the writing center. Additionally, this building houses the Oswald Chambers Reading Room, the only one of its kind in the United States, which houses the Oswald Chambers Collection of our friend, Charlie “Tremendous” Jones. Tremendous Life Books continues to generously donate monies and books. The company thrives under the leadership of his daughter, Tracey Jones. 2 Biographies T r a c e y C. B l u e (Renowned “Pawthor”) R u b y R e d (Renowned “Pawthor”) Mr. Blue was found with his 10 littermates in a field in Austin, Texas. A Blue Merle Aussie/Bassett mix, he was dirty, full of fleas and worms. This little pup started life as an underdog. After finding his way into the arms of his mom at five weeks of age, he sat under the feet of the masters for the next 11 years and learned all about “pawsitivity!” Ruby Red is a gorgeous red merle Australian Shepherd who originally hails from Bowling Green, Kentucky. She spent the first part of her life delivering litter after litter, “bare-pawed” and pregnant. At six, her owners deemed her no longer useful and dropped her at a shelter. Ruby didn’t know how to handle herself and was deemed unadoptable and scheduled to be euthanized. A kind woman pulled her into her foster home in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where Ruby’s mom, Tracey, found her. Mr. Blue is the best-smelling “pawthor” of True Blue Leadership: Top 10 Tricks From the Chief Motivational Hound and the illustrated children’s version From Underdog to Wonderdog. Mr. Blue is passionate about inspiring the work ethic, loyalty and friendliness displayed unconditionally by man’s best friend in children and adults. He is passionate about changing the world one book, and one bark, at a time. In addition to his publishing skills, Mr. Blue currently enjoys his position as Chief Motivational Hound at Tremendous Life Books. When not performing his duties, Mr. Blue spends his time speaking to colleges, businesses and elementary schools sharing some “pawsome” hound wisdom. A rock star in his own right, Mr. Blue is adored for his calm demeanor, tender kisses and soft fur, which he showcases to everyone he meets. 3 Tracey took one look at those almond eyes and knew Ruby Red could make the dogmalion-like transformation to the best-smelling “pawthor” she is today. Ruby shares her top 10 tricks in how to get a second leash on life in her book Saucy Aussie Living. A reformed out-of-bounds hound, her lessons teach how hurt can make you better, not bitter. In addition to her literary skills, Ruby Red currently enjoys the position of Chief Excitement Officer at Tremendous Life Books. When not performing her duties at work or speaking to organizations, Ruby is an avid butt-wiggler and vocal contortionist, loves mothering all small animals and children, and is prone to bouts of spontaneous affection. M i c h a e l P att e r s o n (Author and Career Coach) As a speaker, trainer and author, Mr. Patterson facilitates workshops on diverse topics such as leadership, coaching, employee development and retention, sales, service, communication skills, and emotional intelligence. He is the author of three books. Sit Stay Succeed offers an innovative approach on employee development. Managers who don’t know where to begin can take lessons from man’s best friend to coach, motivate, and develop employees. The KIMBA Principle provides managers with a 5-step module on how to determine the underlying cause of employee performance issues. The modules were adapted from a principle Mike developed. Promotions Are Not Served At The Deli Counter is a straight-forward guide for how to really succeed and get promoted in the workforce. His engaging presentations energize the audience and provide practical advice for real world application. Mike lives in suburban Philadelphia with his wife Ann and two dogs, Baleigh and Kimba. G i n g e r L i l l e r (The Bride) I n d i g o J o n e s (The Groom) Ginger, an English Springer Spaniel, was born in rural Pennsylvania where she lived outside with minimal attention and care until she was rescued by an animal welfare organization. She was originally named Tina. After a medical checkup and a trip to the beauty parlor, she was adopted into the Liller household and renamed Ginger, inspired by the character Mother Ginger from the “Nutcracker” ballet. She is a beloved member of her new family and loves playing with her canine brother, Amos, and her human sister, Valeria. Ginger looks forward to many years of barkful bliss with Indigo Jones! Indigo Jones hails from West Virginia where little is known about his background. He was captured by a Dog catcher in August 2011 and taken to a local pound. His original name was “Billy” and he was estimated to be a sixmonth-old, Corgi/Australian Shepherd mix. A wonderful foster family pulled him to safety until he was then transported to a rescue in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. There, he found his forever home and new pack. He immediately became the baby boy of his new household and began romping with his older brother, Mr. Blue, and being nurtured by his surrogate mom, Ruby Red. In addition, Indigo shares his domicile with three cats and is a wonderful brother to them as well. Like most Corgis, he has many different voices and is the world’s best cuddle bug.
