Clerici wo Since the John Henry Brookes Building opened in February 2014, a series of moves has been planned, helping to zone the Headington Campus into spaces for student-facing activities, directorate support and a central core of academic teaching and research. Sinclair Terrace M Governors confirmed the business priorities in 2012, and these are shaping the development of the Estate Strategy options to support the University. The aim is to achieve a smaller but better quality estate that supports the strategic aspirations of the Faculties and Directorates. The estate needs to deliver an excellent student experience in suitably located facilities with flexibility to meet the needs of the University in the long term. ge EF OVERVIEW Old Library Ton EXISTING BUILDING res c he Po st Ro om Kit Po ole d te ac hin g Decanted to HKSC Pooled teaching timetabled elsewhere in Headington to nS Already moved to JHB DEVELOPMENT Key points from consultation PROGRESS A co-location working group was formed in June 2013 to discuss and work through the logistics of co-locating the different services of Print, Post & Stores. Data were gathered on staff numbers, types of work, storage requirements, synergies between teams and where services could potentially be improved. Sharing vehicles, storage, office space and restrooms. The ground floor of Fuller will be adapted to keep delivery vehicles separated from pedestrian visitors by using different entrances, which keeps all traffic on the southern service road. In March 2014, all staff involved in the anticipated series of moves were invited to take part in a survey to gauge their satisfaction with their current working environment, and how well it supported them in doing their daily tasks. The results have usefully highlighted some issues that can be addressed through the moves. The results will also be used as a benchmark against those of a future survey, to establish levels of satisfaction once everyone has moved and settled into their new environment. During March 2014, the EFM Workshops relocated into their new accommodation in Fuller to allow Birch House to be cleared, ready for demolition. In April 2014, the Post Room decanted to a temporary home in the Helena Kennedy Student Centre to allow Stores to occupy their old space in Fuller and the building works to progress in the main section of the building.
