DESCRIPTION
A scavenger hunt is a game in which the organizers prepare a list defining
specific items, which the participants — individuals or teams — seek to gather all
the items on the list — usually without purchasing them — or the participants will
perform tasks or take photographs of the items, as specified. The goal is usually
to be the first to complete the list, although in a variation on the game players can
also be challenged to complete the tasks on the list in the most creative manner.
Some scavenger hunts are held online, where players have to find particular
information on the web. Scavenger hunts can easily be played either outdoors
(around town, parks, back yards, etc.) or indoors (malls, houses, shops, etc.) and
they’re a great way to teach kids.

A scavenger hunt is a game in which the organizers prepare a list defining

the items on the list — usually without purchasing them — or the participants will
perform tasks or take photographs of the items, as specified. The goal is usually

information on the web. Scavenger hunts can easily be played either outdoors
(around town, parks, back yards, etc.) or indoors (malls, houses, shops, etc.) and
they’re a great way to teach kids.
The game has 2 main objectives: (1) to crack the codes and find the final place to
meet, and (2) to complete the to-do-list and earn points. Accordingly there are
two legs of the point system: time for (1) and points for (2).
HERE ARE THE
RULES FOR AP.2
(1) crack the codes and find the final place to meet
The itinerary of the group is ciphered. You will have 4-5 destinations. The
destination will be ciphered by showing you a piece of poem and asking you to
go to the place where the statue of the author is. If you do not know, you can ask
passers-by or use your limited call minutes.
To decipher some words, you will need to unscramble words meaning you will
rearrange the letters to form valid words.
Rules to remember
1. Be attentive to your team members. They could be lost or kidnapped by
our special agents.
2. No usage of cell phones except with the special permission of your ‘angel’.
You have limited amount of minutes to use the phone of your ‘angel’, also
you can trade your point for phone.
3. You cannot use money, only the limited amount that has your ‘angel’.
More over, this is primarily for public transportation. However, you can
trade some of your points to buy money.
4. Pass the roads from proper places and only when there is green light for you.
6
(2) complete the to-do-list and earn points
On the start of the hunt you will be given the items to hunt. The list can include
both items and photos of you or someone else doing something that is asked for.
For example:
● A picture of any historical landmark in the city;
● A copy of the front page of the local newspaper;
● A shopping bag from a local Mall;
● A take-out menu;
● A photo of a stranger serenading your team with an instrument;

For the organizers
ANGELS WILL
BE RESPONSIBLE
notes
AGENTS WILL
KIDNAP YOU
Each group must have at least one ‘angel’ – a person who will be silent, but
● making sure the participants do not cheat;
● photographing the group in action and helping to take photos for the to-do-list;
● be the money keeper and spend money when needed;
● have the public transportation tickets ready;
● be very responsible for the kids’ safety.
Also, every group will be followed by two ‘agents’ bad guys who will punish
those team members who have gone too far from they team by ‘kidnapping’
them. ‘Kidnapping’ happens this way, two ‘agents’ together put their hands on the
participant’s shoulder, they show a special card to affirm they are from WV, the
participant have no right to cry out for help, ‘agents’ count 10 seconds, if no one
from team notices this event, the participant is regarded as kidnapped. As ‘agents’
know the destination places they would be much faster.
