Roger Cram
Roger was hired as a parts dismantler at
American Iron & Metal of TN, but he wears
many more hats than just that one. He can,
and does any job asked of him, from parts to
loader to laborer. Roger goes above and beyond. In just a year and a half, he has proven
himself as a valuable Earth Waste & Metal
employee. He is the definition of quality hard
work, and someone not afraid to do whatever
it takes to get the job done.

Human Resources’ Inspirational Plug: A Must Read For Any Employee

Tech Talk
Limited Income? Loss of Freedom? Limited Voice? Lack of Work-Life Balance? These are only a few of the major grumbles by
many employees out in the workforce, but they don’t have to be. You don’t have to be “just an employee,” be a leader. Employees can be leaders of their own subordinates. More importantly, they can be leaders of themselves. Employers and managers may
be leaders, but they also follow the people under their leadership. Actually, it doesn’t really matter if you’re a leader or a follower. What matters is you are doing a great job as a member. Remember that leaders and followers are all members. Our nation and
the world may experience unemployment problems. They said that business owners and entrepreneurs are the ones who can save
us from these problems because they are the people who can create multiple jobs. Yes, it’s true, but employees
also have their own feat to save any economy from falling.

Just A Good Old-Fashioned New England Winter
While metal may not move as well as we’d like this time of year, Earth Waste & Metal’s snow removal crew definitely
doesn’t have the same complaint! In February alone, Vermont & New York have been punched with two back-to-back
Nor’Easters dumping well over a foot of snow each time. Pictured above is an action shot, courtesy of the Rutland Herald,
of our crew hard at work moving snow at the Wal-Mart Shopping Plaza. Keep up the great work guys, the end is near!

Tech. Tips With Eric Lapp
This month, 2 handy tips for the most common devices used in our business
environment.
Ever want to send a copy of the crazy view or error message that’s popped
up on your screen instead of trying to write it down or describe it to the IT /
tech support?
Windows pc’s:
Operation C-131: Before & After
Thanks to the exceptional bidding skills of Operations Manager Sharon Herbert, EW&M obtained this C-131 located at the
Air National Guard in South Burlington, VT. The scope of this
work was done by Red Springer in a matter of 3 days. Red not
only had to deal with the runway planes coming in and out, but
the marines watching every move of the shearer mutilating the
C-131. The Department of Defense and Army/Navy personnel
could not believe the Hitachi 330ZX with Genesis 500R shearer destruction power.
For error messages (dialog boxes), left click on the top bar of the box, hit Alt
+ Print screen on your keyboard. This places a copy of the box on your clipboard, and you can now paste it into an email or word doc.
Transactions in Action
Glen Curtiss processes a credit card
on the Granville Station’s I-Pad.
To capture your entire screen, just hit shift + print screen key (right side top
usually), and it’s ready to paste into an email or word doc or .ppt slide.
Iphone or Ipad:
Hold the home button and press the power button briefly once at the same
time. A copy of the screen will be saved as the last picture in your device.
It was cold and windy, but again our company did not fail to
perform. Hat’s off to Sharon’s bidding, & Red’s destroying!

Iron is considered to be the 10th most abundant element in the
universe. Did you know that our sun and other stars have iron
in them? It is also the fourth most plentiful element on earth. It is unknown who discovered it,
but it is documented that the Egyptians used iron as far back as 4000 BC.

This year has been particularly cold throughout our locations North and South, but
everyone has continued to do their best working in these unfavorable conditions. I'd
like all EW&M employees to know how proud I am of your continued hard work
and dedication. While Corporate has utilized this quieter time to build structure
and solidify our team, I am looking forward to Spring; a very busy season for
EW&M. Knowing that teamwork and customer service are key to our success, it is
exciting to see each division of the company developing strong teams and positive
energy. Positive energy from the inside out will gain us opportunities, continued
success and happy customers. I also want to encourage everyone to stay active in
both our work communities and larger local communities. It is important to give
back. Community involvement will help all of us maintain our positive outlook
and purpose. It not only portrays the kind of people we have working at EW&M,
but it can really make a difference in the lives of others.
