Fawn Hollow PTO is excited to announce our fifth annual
Laps for Learning Walk-A-Thon!
This fun event will promote exercise, healthy living and school spirit within our Fawn Hollow
community while also raising funds for the PTO! During regularly scheduled gym classes the
week of October 17th, as part of our fitness curriculum, all Fawn Hollow students will walk/run as
many laps as possible around our course on the back field during their 30 minute Physical
Education class. The laps are converted to miles (10 laps=1 mile). While the kids walk, they will
enjoy some fresh air, physical activity, music and fun with their Fawn Hollow friends. Following
their walk, all students will be treated to an ice pop to celebrate their efforts!
In addition to having a great time, students also can raise money to help their school by having
family and friends support their walking with a donation. All the money raised will go directly
back into our school by funding all the projects and programs of the PTO including cultural
program assemblies, field trip funding for every student, and other projects.
If each Fawn Hollow family raised even just $25.00, we would raise over $10,000
to help with all the PTO does for our students!
We hope you will consider supporting the PTO by sponsoring your students
as they walk some Laps for Learning!
TWO WAYS TO DONATE:
Per Lap: If sponsoring a student per/lap, please complete the pledge form and send it back with your
child on race day. Laps will be tallied and it will be returned to you for fulfillment of the sponsorships.
Lump Sum: Please attach funds to the pledge sheet and return it on your child’s race day! It is that easy!
Please return your completed pledge sheets on the day of your child’s scheduled walk. ALL
DONATIONS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2016. Money collected can be
cash or check (payable to Fawn Hollow PTO). Or, new this year, visit the PTO web site at
www.fawnhollowpto.org to make donations online! Online donations can be made as lump sums
in $5 increments.
The classes have been divided into teams each representing a different color. Please have your child
dress in their team’s color on the day they walk to promote team unity! The team with the highest average
laps per student will be awarded a prize ribbon! The students in each grade with the most laps/miles
(both boy and girl) will also be recognized! All students who walk 10 or more laps will receive a Fawn
Hollow water bottle for going the extra mile with their walking efforts!

Schedule and Volunteer Sign Up
Our Fawn Hollow Laps for Learning Walk-A-Thon is being run with the assistance of our
physical education teachers, but in order for all the laps walked to be counted accurately, we
need some help! We are looking for at least four (4) volunteers to count laps at each class time.
Each class session is only thirty (30) minutes long and volunteers are welcome to sign up for
more than one time. Please try to arrive five (5) minutes prior to the start time.
This is a VERY EASY and FUN way to get involved and support the students as they walk.
We welcome younger siblings to come and cheer the children on too!

PLEDGE SHEET
Students are encouraged to seek pledges from their families and friends! All the funds raised
go directly to the Fawn Hollow PTO to support its projects and programs at the school such as
cultural assembly programs, field trip funding for every student, and other projects. Pledges can
be made in a lump sum or on a per lap basis. The pledge sheet will be tallied on the day of the
walk and returned home for collection of unpaid pledges. Please keep in mind that the students
are walking around a course on the back field during their regularly scheduled 30 minute gym
classes and will be trying to accumulate as many laps as possible for their team. TEN (10) laps
equal ONE (1) mile and most children will complete at least one mile. On average last year,
most students completed 15 to 20 laps.
