Alphabetical Order – (1 point)
Illustrations – (1 point)
Jumble – (1 point)
Arrange all words in alphabetical
order. Do not do in the same week as
reverse alphabetical order.
Draw a one-frame illustration which
shows the meaning of at least 5 of
your words. No stick figures.
Jumble all of your spelling words then
write them correctly.
Reverse Alphabetical Order Font Art – (1 point)

Write all of your words in fancy font
lettering: you can create the lettering
style yourself, use stencils, or different
computer fonts for each word.

Arrange all words in reverse
alphabetical order. Do not do in the

Color Vowels – (1 point)
Goofy Hand – (1 point)
Scrabble – (1 point)
Write all of your list words, but write
all the vowels in a separate color for
each (for example: all “a’s” color red,
all “e’s” color blue, all “o’s” color
orange …)
If you’re right handed, write all of
your words with your left hand. If
you’re left handed, use your right
hand.
Arrange at least 8 of your words like
a scrabble game or a crossword,
overlapping horizontally and
vertically. Graph paper is very helpful.
Secret Agent Encode
Small Words – (2 points)

Find at least 5 small words in at least 8
of your list words. You may mix up the
letters. For example, with
“frightened”- fright, ten, right, in,
den, and high.
Use all of your words.
First, make flash cards for your words.
Hang up your words all around.
Go find a word, study it, then come
back and write it down.
Finished? Collect your words.
Rewrite any that were misspelled.

Acrostic – (2 points)
Write at least 5 words
vertically and think of
words that start with
the same letter to make
them into an acrostic
poem.

Create a Word Find or
Puzzle – (2 points)
Write all your spelling words in a
secret code: either use a simple one
like A=1, B=2 etc. Or A=Z, B=Y; or
create your own. Write your code on
the paper. Encode your words.
Have an answer key on the back or
attached to your work.
Have a friend decode your coded
words.

Create and solve a word search or
another type of word puzzle.

them.
