El proyecto de español III

Proyecto - Español III
Mi álbum
Valor: 100 pts
With this album, you have a wonderful opportunity to describe a memorable past
experience to your class. You will choose 6 photos that give us an insight into something special
you did in the past. The photos may be from past vacations, sports, family celebrations, or fun
activities with family or friends.
Since you are recounting past events, you will write it in the past tense, being very aware
of the differences between the Preterit and the Imperfect tenses. Remember the trigger
words that may go with each tense and the name to help you remember the uses of the
Imperfect: Walter B. Mop. Do not write in the present tense since you are describing past
events! Requirements:





At least 6 COLORFUL photos (they can’t be from too long ago; we should be able to
recognize you in them!)
4 sentences about each photo
Correct use of el pretérito y el imperfecto:
At least six different verbs en el pretérito
At least six different verbs en el imperfecto
You should use the preterit to tell the story line and the imperfect for background
information, or any of the other uses from Walter B. Mop. Please be careful not to repeat
background information from picture to picture. For example, if you mention your age or the
weather with one photo, do not repeat those items again. Even if you are much older in a
following picture, do not repeat age but find something else to talk about. It is more
challenging to use sequential pictures to tell a story; students who choose to do this will be
given more credit.
After you have passed in your final project, we will go to the language lab and you will
record part of your album. You and your classmates will get a chance to hear each other’s
stories after they are recorded as time allows.

DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING IN ENGLISH throughout this project. You will lose 1
point for each English word. If you have to look up a word, use the dictionary website
wordreference.com. A dictionary website will give you the infinitive of the verb but leave
it to you to conjugate it. Do not use electronic translators. The online translator


conjugates the verb for you which is cheating. If an online translator or another person
does the work for you, it is cheating. For cheating, you will receive a zero.
If you are absent on the days when the project draft or final project are due, you
must stop by my room to drop them off when you are back in school, even if it is not a
class day.
Late drafts and final projects will lose 10 points per late day.
FECHAS IMPORTANTES:
1. Primer bosquejo (Quiz grade – 72 points): First draft of the written part of the album:
martes, 12 de marzo
The first draft will be graded!
Pictures should be included. For the draft, set your printer on gray scale for the
pictures. If you do not have digital pictures, please scan your pictures for this
draft.
The draft must be typed and double-spaced.
The rough draft should be done to the best of your ability.




2. El proyecto final: Final project (Project grade – 100 points)
jueves, 28 de marzo





The pictures must be colorful (one picture on each page)
The final project must have all the necessary corrections
The project must be typed and double-spaced.
Please submit your draft and project on time. You will lose 10 points per late day. If you
are absent you have to bring your draft or final project to me when you are back in
school, even if we do not have class. If your project is not done on time, you will not be
able to record it with the others in your class, nor hear their stories.
Since the final project is a photo album, please use sheet protectors, or an actual album.
You can also create your own photo album. The first page should have the following
heading: (Remember, DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING IN ENGLISH!)
