Independence Day is not just a celebration of Independence / Freedom, but a day to
remember the past……..

SANGHARSH - Struggle of unimaginable proportions

SWARAJ – Relentless Fight for Freedom / Independence &

BALIDAN - Ultimate Sacrifice by countless freedom fighters
Every Indian owes deepest gratitude to all these FREEDOM FIGHTERS, known or
unknown, named or unnamed, Leader or Jawan, due to whose selfless efforts, INDIA
ATTAINED FREEDOM & INDEPENDENCE IN 1947!
2. Freedom Fighters – A Look BEYOND
But …..,
 Have we really paid our deserving obeisance with honour & respect to ALL OF
THEM…….?
 True, we all do recall & remember the great sacrifice of our great
leaders such
Bapuji, Tilak, Bose, Bhagat Singh, Azad & many more…FINE !
 But, have we done enough (other than lip-service) to other unnamed / unknown
Freedom Fighters / Jawans & many more, hailing from smallest village or any
remotest corner of our country, who all have tremendous sacrifice, in their own
capacity, to their great mother land ?
 Do we have enough memorials (Smaarak), Institutes / Roads / Parks / Schools
etc. named after them? – Ans is : very less – Resoundingly so !
 Do we have ready – to – refer data base / history docket to find out the names of
the freedom fighters from our own native place / town / village & their contribution
/ sacrifice for the freedom movement.
Is it not the time to change that …..?.

Let this Independence Day be special, a very special in the
memory of all those unnamed / unknown / uncrowned “jewels” of
our nation!

Let this day be recalled, in addition to the remembrances of supreme sacrifice laid down by our
great & known freedom fighters, LET IT ALSO BE REMEMBERED FOR EVER FOR THE
SUPREME SACRIFICE DONE BY SCORES OF UNKNOWN / UNNAMED / UNCROWNED
FREEDOM FIGHTERS!

Let, both central / state government and all our historians, collect / compile their (those who’re
living or no more, doesn’t matter) story & history, their struggle & sacrifice, their contribution &
service to the nation and Let us document them.

Let this ‘MEMORABILIA” once completed be shared / available to the world, every Indian or
otherwise, in particular, to our next generation, through an online dedicated ‘FREEDOM
STRUGGLE HISTORY PORTAL’ exclusively meant for the above purpose.

We may have many such portal / information in the net, but Is there any ALL PAN-INDIA
READY TO SEE DATA BASE OF FREEDOM FIGHTERS, State>>District>>Taluk>>Village wise,
so that no one, who’d contributed their main & might to the freedom movement, is missed.

Inspite of more than 60 years of Independence, how many of us know, who all fought for the
freedom movement from our own respective native places / towns, villages – Answer may not
be many !

We are all poor students of our own history. We were taught only about the great leaders – no
complaints – it ought to be – but India should also speak for the unnamed / unknown /
uncrowned freedom fighters & earlier we do, better for the nation !

This data base, if prepared, will be a ready-to-inspire, one-stop document-cum- portal, which can
not only be inspiring, but might also prove to be energizing for our next generation.

The online database of above kind can be continuously updated with names of those who have
become ‘shahid” and laid down their lives for our nation after independence, till now.

Once this precious piece of freedom history and contribution of unnamed / unknown / uncrowned
freedom fighters / Shahid Jawans in the service of nation is recorded and acknowledged, let’s
also make a DVD copy of it, in addition, and distribute to every school in our country, in all
regional languages – so that this becomes ready to refer guiding document about our lesser
known, but greatest contributed, freedom fighters!

This data base can also be used to give due honour & respect to them in the form of naming
the “Freedom Park” / “Community hall” / “Library” / “Street”, or even Big Trees in a Village, after
them – which can become a permanent source of inspiration to the nation.
