PROGRAMME
2017
FEBRUARY 10-19, 2017
A NEW IDEA
OF FRENCH ROMANCE
02
ROMANTIC
STRASBOURG
IS REINVENTING
THE LOVERS’
CELEBRATION!
With its extraordinary heritage, half-timbered houses,
picturesque alleyways and small squares, canals and bridges,
Strasbourg is undoubtedly one of the most romantic cities
in France.
For the fifth year in a row, the European capital will put
on a festival to celebrate lovers with a programme that is
simultaneously poetic, cultural, glamorous, and slightly quirky!
(Re) experience the city as never before! Among the highlights
of the ten-day event: festive, delightfully retro evenings;
gourmet têteà-tête dinners; ephemeral installations under the
stars; exclusive concerts; unusual visits; unexpected encounters…
For a Valentine’s Day like none other, don’t miss Strasbourg…
mon amour!

SATURDAY
FEBRUARY
FROM HEAD TO TOE
AT THE WÜRTH MUSEUM,
ZI OUEST, RUE GEORGES BESSE – ERSTEIN
FROM TUESDAY TO SATURDAY FROM 10 AM TO 5 PM
AND ON SUNDAY FROM 10 AM TO 6 PM
Celebrate Valentine's Day “From Head to Toe” at the Würth Museum!
The exhibition explores the different representations of the human figure
in art: from the ideal body to the feminine ideal, from the art of the portrait
to the the art of the absent body, and finally, the art of love, in the “Corps à
Corps” section. The body is the locus of our emotions, and it manifests our
relationships in all their complexity. Through contact, gestures and gazes,
the body reveals the relationships that exist between two people. Whether
in seduction, tenderness, desire or disinterest, two bodies that meet enter
into interaction. They intertwine, attract and repel, and thus express, beyond
feelings, the ties that bind two people, such as in a marriage.

UNIVERSAL LOVE
AT THE HÔTEL DU DÉPARTEMENT,
FROM 10 FEBRUARY TO 3 MARCH
FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY FROM 10 AM TO 6 PM
Photographers, including Jean-Claude Durmeyer, have focused their lenses
on scenes that are not often highlighted artistically. Elderly couples, couples of
people suffering from degenerative diseases with their loved ones who care for
them on a daily basis, disabled couples, and others.
For his part, photographer Olivier Ciappa broadens the concept of universal
love, with his “Republic” couples: couples and families of heterosexuals and
homosexuals, the disabled and the non-disabled, single-parent families and
composite families with members of all ages, all origins, forming a Republic of
Love...
Exhibition sponsored by the Bas-Rhin Departmental Council.
