Turkey Spinach Burger
Yield: 6 servings
Ingredients:
2 cloves garlic, finely
chopped
2 - 3 cups baby spinach,
chopped
1 pound ground turkey
1 small egg
6 whole wheat burger buns
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons salt
Pepper to taste
Directions:
Prep all food items as directed above, then add two
tablespoon of water to the pan. Over medium heat,
cook garlic for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Add
in 2 -3 cups of spinach and cook until spinach is cooked down. Remove from heat and let cool for about 3
minutes. In a separate bowl, add one egg, turkey, spinach/garlic mixture, salt and pepper to the ground
turkey. Use hands to fold and combine the turkey mixture, be careful not to over mix. Tip: Use 1/3 cup
measure to mold evenly portioned patties. Add olive oil to the pan that you sautéed the spinach and
garlic in. Pre-heat for 30 seconds. Cook patties for 2-3 minutes on each side. Check temperature for proper
doneness. Tip: The Spinach turkey burgers should reach and internal temperature of 160F.
