The Indians helped the Pilgrims and showed them how to grow corn. To celebrate the first harvest the Pilgrims and Indians joined in a big meal, played games, and read stories. The Pilgrims went to church for three days.They called this celebration Thanksgiving Day, because they were thankful for the harvest and the help they got from the Indians. Thanksgiving Day is celebrated every year on the fourth Thursday of November.
