Carousel station 1
Pollination game to understand how pollination works!
Coloured ball pit balls will be put in the juice bottles in the
centre of the large standalone flowers. The children will
wear bee hats and begin collecting the coloured balls and
dropping them in the other
flowers. The adult at this
station will help the
children understand how
this demonstrates
pollination.
Carousel station 2
Making insect hotels
The children will be given the opportunity to create
bug hotels in a variety of ways. These will be put in
the school quad to encourage pollinating insects!
Butterfly feeding stations, bug hotels and solitary
bee motels will be created by groups of children at
this station.
Carousel station 3
Label parts and types of bees in the hive
Model bees will be secured onto a board with
hexagons painted. The children will use the
information provided to label the types and parts of
the bees on show in the hive!
Carousel station 4
Planting tubs of wild flowers appropriate to attract
pollinating insects – plant a seed in the pots!!
I will place a variety of tubs and planters at this
station along with seeds of plants that encourage
pollinating insects. The children can plant a couple of
seeds in these planters when they come to this
station.
Carousel station 5
Dressing up as a bee keeper, exploring
the equipment they use and label!
The children can dress up as the bee
keeper – explore the equipment they would
use and label the items on show.
Carousel station 6
Bee toss
Beanbag bees and flower board. Each flower has different
points attached to it! Can the children score the highest
score!?
Carousel station 7
Bee houses
Spend time looking at the models of different bee
houses in the world – label and open to read facts
about them!

Bee navigation
The children can
explore the dance

provided with the
