Formal Definition of Quadratic:
Any function of the form
where a, b, & c are real numbers and a does not equal 0.
In simple terms: Some function where you have as your largest exponent on x, and you don't have any negative or fraction exponents.

Parabola: the shape a quadratic function makes. looks like a U
Vertex: the turning point of a parabola. The lowest or highest point (depending on the graph)
Axis of Symmetry: The straight line through the vertex which cuts the graph in half, symmetrically.
