beach has areas of quicksand! You must follow the path of past tense verbs to avoid the
quicksand.

Be careful! Many past tense verbs are spelled just like present tense with “ed” on the end, but
some have special spellings. The past tense of “walk” is “walked”, but the past tense of “catch”
