DESCRIPTION
R - LA HISTORIA. PREPARATIVOS. Listen and identify texts from dialogue as
Descripción, Narración en el pasado, or Futuro.
R - PAREO. Match words with definitions.
R - LO CONTRARIO. Match words with their opposites.
R - OPCIONES. Select the word that best completes each sentence.
P - LA IMPORTANCIA DE ESTUDIAR OTRAS LENGUAS. Choose the correct word
to complete the sentence (3) and fill in the blank with the appropriate verb or
adjective (5). OJO: Conjugate verbs in the present tense, and watch for
agreement with adjectives.
P - PRÁCTICA DE CONJUGACIÓN. Complete verb chart with the tenses
indicated.
P - HABLAR DE LOS GUSTOS Y LAS OPINIONES. Complete the sentences with
the correct forms of the verbs in the Present Indicative, the Preterite or the
Imperfect. OJO: Remember to include the Indirect Object (me, te, le, nos, os,
les) in front of the verb form.

action, a completed action or a future action. (OJO: Future will be indicated
here by use of present subjunctive indication something pending.)

6. CHAPTER 6: SPEAKING ASSESSMENT.
Complete the Speaking Assessment. REMEMBER: Even though you have access to this assignment before having
completed previous work in LearnSmart Vocabulary, LearnSmart Grammar and the Workbook/ Lab manual, you need to
complete the previous assignments before doing the speaking, which is based on mastery of vocabulary & grammar.
7. CHAPTER TEST
Take the Chapter 6 Test. Remember that you have a 48-hour window for this, and that you MUST record
this on TEGRITY in order to get credit for the test.
To review:
o Practice in LearnSmart Vocabulary & Grammar.
o Use the chapter Grammar Video tutorial (see p. 1 of this file).
o Re-do the activities in the Workbook/Lab Manual (after the due date, you will have
to access them by logging on from your main Connect home page rather than Blackboard.)
Test Content & Format:
The Chapter Test contains exercises similar in format to the ones you complete in the
Workbook/Lab Manual. Below is a detailed outline of the content and format of the test questions.
VOCABULARY:
*Read definitions and fill in the correct word or phrase from the word bank.
*Choose words from word bank that correspond to each of the 2 categories.
Listening:
*Listen to definitions and decide if they are true or false (Cierto o Falso) (2).
*Listen to definitions and write the word from the word bank that corresponds.
GRAMMAR:
FUTURE TENSE:
*Convert sentences with the “going to” future (IR + A + INFINITIVE) to the “will” future.
Examples: Voy a comer. = Comeré. Vamos a ayudarle. = Le ayudaremos. ***
***Note that if an object pronoun is attached to the main verb in infinitive form
in the “going to” future, it must be placed in front of the conjugated verb when
you change it to the “will future.”
ADVERBS CLAUSES OF TIME:
*Complete sentences the present indicative, present subjunctive or preterite. (2) FORMULA:
If the second part of the sentence contains....
...the present indicative, complete with present indicative.
...the future (will or “going to” future), complete with present subjunctive.
...the past (preterite or imperfect), complete with preterite.
*Complete sentences the infinitive, present indicative, present subjunctive or preterite.
FORMULA: Same as above + use of infinitive if verb is preceded by a preposition.
LISTENING COMPREHENSION:
*Listen to a narrative and decide if statements are true or false (Cierto o Falso).
