Bucket Filling Lessons
Each class had a lesson in the last
two weeks on the importance of
Bucket Filling. We are learning
that we each have an invisible
bucket filled with good thoughts &
feelings.
WE FILL BUCKETS BY:
The things we say – Giving
compliments, saying hello, saying
please & thank you.
The things we do –being friendly,
responsible, or respectful, helping
without being asked, & listening to
someone.
REMEMBER THE RULE
When we fill someone
bucket, we fill our own.
else’s
Bucket filling is a lot like laughing –
it can spread from person to
person. Hanging out with people
who make you feel good inside is
more fun than people who make you
feel bad. We can tell the
difference.
Bucket Fillers enjoy the outdoors,
respect and take care of it & enjoy
its beauty.
We can challenge ourselves to do
something new or difficult. We
can face our fears and that can fill
our bucket. Knowing that we’ve
done our best–being proud of our
accomplishments can also help fill
our own buckets.
LET’S ALL BE BUCKET
FILLERS!
REPORT CARDS
Report cards are coming home on Thursday,
December 8th. These will report what your child
is able to do, indicate where they need more
help, and share ways parents can help the
student in his/her learning.
Primary reports:
Scale ranges from “Not Yet Meeting”,
“Approaching”, “Meeting” or “Exceeding.”
expectations. Most teachers will include
comments about the child’s progress in relation
to the learning outcomes expected.
Intermediate grades letter grades are given
for each subject comparing the student’s
performance related to learning outcomes. A
student’s end of term work may be more heavily
weighted as it more accurately shows the level
of the student at the time the report is written.
A
Excellent or outstanding performance
B
Very good performance
C+
Good performance
C
Satisfactory performance
CMinimally acceptable performance
Please sign and return the

STUDENT DROP OFF
AND PICK UP
A reminder to parents:
We ask that when
dropping off or picking
up your child, please do
not do use the staff
parking lot! Please use
the gym side of the
school in the new
designated Parent
Parking and Drop Off
area or the church
parking lot across the
street. This comes down
to a safety issue when
dropping off or picking
up your child and also
congests the parking lot
stopping the flow of
traffic. Thank you for
your cooperation.

book to take home.
Thanks also to Rebecca
Beuschel for being our
special guest at our Read

CPF UPDATE
Our school, along with Tiny Treats, is hosting a
Cookie Tray Fundraiser for the French Immersion
Week celebration which will include the entire
school. Each tray is $35 and orders will be taken
until December 5th with pick up ready at the school
on December 14th. Notices have gone home to each
family.
French Immersion students are continuing to
thrive at our new school. Thanks to all who have
been so welcoming and have worked so hard to
make this school great. Students enjoyed the
Halloween Parade, Halloween Dance, and
Remembrance Day Assembly.
The Canadian Parents for French (CPF) group is
working on some exciting projects:
French Immersion Week 2017 - students will
explore French cultures around the world this
spring. We've got fantastic ideas but could use
your enthusiasm and help too!
Quebec trip(s) - would you like to work with
other parents to plan a trip to Quebec for your
FI student in (potentially) 2018? All interested
parents and kids welcome! The group can
determine which classes or ages of students will
work together to plan a trip. It's possible that we
may have enough interest for two groups students who will be in Grade 10 and possibly
Grade 7 in 2018.
If you're interested in working with us on either
of these projects, please contact us at
[email protected]
