Building Fund Fee
The Building Fund Fee is a non-refundable fee for
adults. This fee ($75/adult) is used to maintain the
YMCA’s facility and equipment.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel your membership written notification
must be provided a minimum of 5 days prior to your
payment date. Membership cards must be returned
and the $25 cancellation fee paid. We are unable to
accept cancellation requests by phone.

Continuous Membership
Your YMCA membership automatically renews each month.
Payments can be arranged through your bank account or
by credit card. Please remember to update all changes to
personal information such as address, banking or credit
card expiration dates.
YMCA Access
YMCA issued membership cards (or Photo ID) are required
to access the facility. Pre-authorization is required by nonmembers to accompany children under age 12 to and from
swim lessons. Guests and pass users must also present
Photo ID.

Membership Holds
Memberships may be placed on hold once per calendar
year for up to six months. Requests must be made a
minimum of five days prior to payment date. Published
membership fees will apply at the time of reactivation.
Re-registration for swim lessons is required.
Child Minding (ages 0-8)
Child Minding is available in the TD room for up to
90 minutes for family membership holders. Parents/
guardians must remain in the facility. Registration can
be made up to two days in advance by contacting the
Membership Sales & Service Coast 101.1 Welcome

flooring track. Red arrows indicate directional use.
Supervision of Children
Children under age 12 must be directly supervised by
a parent/guardian at all times. Children participating in
staff/volunteer led programs (including swim lessons)
must be accompanied by their parent/guardian to
and from the program and signed in/out by the same
parent/guardian. Please note the Aquatics guidelines on
page 11.
Lockers
Lockers are for day use only. Locks are available for
purchase at the MSS Coast 101.1 Welcome Desk. Please
be sure to keep your belongings locked at all times.
Personal Training
Hourly or package training sessions are available for
individuals or groups. Sport specific programs are also
available. See page 6 for details.
Garland Clarke Conditioning Centre
Cardio and adaptive equipment, selectorized strength
cables, free weights, and more. Must be minimum age
of 12 to access the conditioning centre. Teens ages 1215 must complete a Teen Fit Orientation to access the
conditioning centre (see page 5 for times).

Active Kids
Children ages 3-5 can enjoy this fun

Aquafit - Parent & Tot
All are welcome! Bring along your
little one for an aquafit class of
cardiovascular training, toning and
stretching. Child accompaniment
optional.
Indoor Playground
A fun filled environment that keeps
children up to age 8 active and playing
with other children. Parent/guardian
supervision is required. *Inflatable
bouncer included on these days.
Intro to Sports
Children ages 3-5 are introduced to the
basics of sports play. Sports include
soccer, basketball and more.
Stroller Fit
An exercise class for parents/guardians
and babies in strollers. This class will
combine cardiovascular training, toning
and stretching while using the stroller
and baby to get the most out of your
workout.
Tot Lessons (ages 0-2)
Parent participation required for
these Splasher and Bubbler levels. No
registration required. Note: Children
ages 3 and up may be registered in our
staff supervised lessons.
Tot Time
Enjoy time in the Play Pool with your
little one. For parents/guardians with
children ages 0-3.

two lengths of the RE/MAX Main Pool. **
Ball Hockey
This drop in program encourages participation
by children of all ability levels to develop their
skills in a fun environment. Staff supervised.
Beginner/Novice Handball
Similar to many racquet sports except that
the hand is used to strike the ball. No previous
experience or equipment needed. For Novice
players some previous experience is necessary.
This program takes place at the YMCA. It
does not incorporate travel or tournaments.
Supervised. Maximum of 15.**
Intermediate/Advanced Handball
A more technical and advanced handball
program. This program takes place at the YMCA.
It does not incorporate travel or tournaments.

Indoor Playground
A fun filled environment that keeps children up
to age 8 active and playing with other children.
Parent/guardian supervision is required.

Evening Activities
This is a drop in program. Meet new friends,
play board games, do crafts, build things
or sit back and read a book. While children
are welcome at any time, parents are asked
to respect the 1 1/2 hour time limit. Staff
supervised.
Pickle Ball
Pickle Ball is a paddle sport that is similar to
ping pong but played on a badminton sized
court. Suitable for a variety of ages and abilities.
Drop in program is not staff supervised.
Gym & Swim
Go from playing games in the gym to
swimming in the pool! Staff supervised. Swim
test mandatory.**
Uechi Ryu Karate

Pickle Ball
Pickle Ball is a paddle sport that is similar

Teen Fit
Staff are available to help teen members
in the conditioning centre. Teens are
taught how to use equipment, proper
etiquette, and basic training principles to
build healthy habits. Members ages 12-15

prior to accessing the conditioning centre.
Uechi Ryu Karate
Do you want to become a volunteer?

The Coach Approach
A standardized exercise program with cardio,
strength training and stretching designed
to teach new and returning members
how to start and stick with their exercise
programs. Members are introduced to the
cardio machines, shown correct usage of the
strength equipment and how to properly
stretch after a workout.

Program Descriptions
Aquafit
This class, held in the comfort of water, is
designed for all fitness levels and is designed
to improve your cardio, strength and range of
motion.
Aquafit - Parent & Tot
All are welcome! Bring along your little one
for an aquafit class of cardiovascular training,
toning and stretching. Child accompaniment
optional.
Aqua Jog
Aqua jogging mimics the movement of
jogging but without the impact. This class
may take place in deep or shallow areas of the
main pool.
Ball Fit
Use the stability ball or BOSU ball to improve
balance, flexibility and muscular endurance.
Arrive early to set-up equipment.
Body Blast
Specific muscle toning and conditioning
exercises using free weights, stability and
BOSU balls and other fitness equipment.
Boot Camp
This low-choreography mixed impact class
offers a challenge for all! Running, speed
& agility work, weight training, jump rope,
plyometrics and much more come together
to create a powerhouse workout.
Chair Yoga
This class incorporates the use of a chair for
support and ease of movement. Although all
are welcome, this class is particularly suited to
seniors or individuals experiencing mobility or
other health issues.
Core Fit
Strengthen your core through ab and lower
back exercises. This class incorporates a variety
of equipment.
Core, Strength and Stretch
Strengthen your core through ab and lower
back exercises, finish this class with a total
body stretch.

Similar to many racquet sports

Mat Pilates

Pickle Ball
Pickle Ball is a paddle sport that is similar to
ping pong but played on a badminton sized
court. Suitable for a variety of ages and athletic

Stroller Fit
An exercise class for parents/guardians and
babies in strollers. This class will combine
cardiovascular training, toning and stretching
while using the stroller and baby to get the
most out of your workout.
Swim Fit
Swim Fit is an adult program designed to
encourage fitness through structured training
sessions. It provides opportunities to increase
physical fitness, improve stroke techniques and
receive regular coaching.

Tai Chi
A Chinese system of slow meditative physical

A classic Chinese/Okinawan style of karate. It is

Zumba®
Zumba is an exciting, high energy class suitable
