Venture Crews
Event name: Kayaking
Event description: The kayaking event tests participants’ skills and competitive spirit by challenging physical
fitness, knowledge, resourcefulness, and stamina. It is also a great way to have fun and fellowship with friends
on a hot summer day. Some of the activities will include a kayaking skills challenge, water relay, speed racing,
rescue recovery, and team games. This is a great way for prospective Venture crew members to get the
exposure of high-adventure Scouting. There can be an award ceremony for Scouts and friends at the
conclusion of the event.
• Venture Crews: Schedule this activity during the summer or during spring breaks.
Do this activity as a great way to heighten community involvement, especially showing teens the fun of
Scouting. This is a full-day event focusing on high adventure and physical fitness.
