An Act to sanction the construction of extensions
to Broughton Hall and the Coast Hospital; to
amend the Public Works Act, 1912 ; and for
purposes consequent thereon and incidental
thereto. [Assented to, 20th November, 1919.]
W
H E R E A S it has been agreed between the Government of the Commonwealth and the Government
of the State of New South Wales that the works mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be constructed by
the State from funds to be provided by the Commonwealth, and that the State shall take over the said works
when required by the Commonwealth at a valuation to
be arrived at as by the said agreement provided : Be
it therefore enacted by the Kind's Most Excellent
Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the
Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New
South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the
authority of the same, as follows :—
1. This Act may be cited as the " Broughton Hall
and Coast Hospital Extensions Construction Act, 1919."
2 . The; carrying out of the work more particularly
described in the Schedule is hereby sanctioned, and the
Minister for Public Works, or the member of the Executive Council for the time being performing the duties of
the said Minister, is hereby authorised to undertake and
carry out the said work subject to the provisions of this
Act, and for that purpose shall be and shall have the
power of a Constructing Authority within the meaning
of the Public Works Act, 1912.

3 . The provisions of sections thirty-four, thirty-five,
thirty-six, and thirty-seven of the Public Works Act,
1912, shall not apply to the said work, hut the provisions
of section thirty-eight shall apply to any contracts for
carrying out such work.
4 . The cost of carrying out the said works, estimated
at eighty-four thousand five hundred and fifty pounds,
may be defrayed from funds to be supplied by the
Commonwealth as by the said agreement provided.
5 . The said works shall be deemed to be an authorised
work for the purposes of the Public Works Act, 1912,
and the provisions of the said Act, save as provided by
this Act, shall apply thereto.
