Oerlikon Drive Systems Segment celebrates Suppliers’day 2013 worldwide
One voice, one message to suppliers from the four
regions of Oerlikon Drive Systems Segment
Oerlikon Drive Systems Segment is pleased to announce that from March to May 2013 the
Suppliers’ Day has been celebrated in India, China, America and Italy.
The meetings gathered Members of Drive Systems Segment Management and Drive Systems
procurement team together with about 300 suppliers coming from different countries. The attendees
focused on the goals and performances achieved in the last year by Drive Systems and shared the future
development strategies and the future business growth plan. The presentations and debates covered the
future improvement areas, showing to suppliers the cross segments initiatives and the expectations in
terms of OTD, PPM, VA/VE.
One of the lead objectives shown during the meetings is that the Global Procurement Team wants to
move from a regional organisation to a global one, serving the customer demands and request. The
expectations are to increase savings on cost and productivity from 3% to 5% per year, without affecting
Quality, On Time Delivery and Flexibility. Final goal is to reach a Best in Class position in Procurement
initiatives, thanks also to the cooperation of the suppliers.
During the meeting improvements of the “Quality System” have been promoted, together with the focus
on High Performance Service and a willing to establish Long Term Relationships with the suppliers. In the
four different regions the awards handed over covered the areas Zero PPM, Best Quality rate, Best On
Time Delivery, Best Performance, Best New Product Launch, Best Cooperation in VA/VE activities, Best
capacity ramp up, Engagement and Cooperation, Special recognition for prototyping.
