NEW! ACT This year, all juniors are going to be required to take the ACT on Tuesday, April 28th. There will be a make-up test day on Tuesday, May 12th. The test will be given during the school day. There will be no charge for this exam. It is important to take the test seriously! Scores from this test CAN be used for college admission purposes. This allows time to review the scores and determine if additional testing will be necessary in the fall of senior year. SAT Subject Tests • Required by some highly selective colleges • One-hour tests on a variety of subjects such as American History, Mathematics, and Chemistry • Can take one, two, or three tests in one day • Juniors taking AP examinations might consider taking SAT Subject Tests in spring of junior year • SAT and SAT Subject Tests cannot be taken on the same day Test Preparation If you score lower on tests than would be expected from your everyday school performance Or You have a specific goal that requires a specific score You might consider some preparation. Test Preparation You have been preparing for these tests all of your life. Use the free booklet and practice test provided by the company. In print – prep books are readily available and inexpensive. Online and CD based materials are common. Classes are available ranging from a few hours to many weeks in duration.
