After a wonderful service of farewell on Sunday, we
are now in that period of waiting for the arrival of
Michael, so I thought it might be useful to remind
you of what's going on through the summer.
Lisa, in the office, who is first port of call for
enquiries, has been producing the newsletter for the
last few weeks so she will continue to keep us all up
to date regarding what's on. Nigel is running some of
the children's work through the summer and Ladies
Fellowship is continuing to meet, whilst evening
services will be held at a different church each week
until September.
Remember that, even though we have no minister, we still aim to 'share the
heart of God at the heart of community'.
Your stewards (Heather, Joan, Chris, Phil, Neil, Terri and I) are in church most
Sundays and often around church in the week, so if you have any concerns or
questions please collar any of us. Pastoral matters, however, should be brought
to Cathy Walker's attention.
The stewards would like to thank everyone who contributed to Peter's new suit
and also everyone who helped to provide the beautiful lunch last Sunday. Special thanks also to Chris and Margaret who spent most of Sunday in the kitchen.
We gave Peter and family a splendid send off and now we look forward to
Michael's arrival. We know you will keep both families in your prayers as they
take up their new appointments.
Michael's first service at Leyland Road will be on Sunday September 4th.
