ticketed talks, workshops and activities
All workshops and activities must be
booked unless otherwise stated as drop-in.
FREE Wider Family Learning (WFL)
activities are funded by Southampton
Adult Learning. The aim of the sessions
is to encourage families to learn together.
Places are limited to two children per
adult, no adult restrictions apply. All
children must be accompanied by an
adult. A £5 deposit, per child will be taken
when booking, and refunded at the end
of the event.
Under 8s must be accompanied by
an adult during activities. Please bring
a packed lunch to all day activities.
Museum activity prices include entrance
to the museums for the child and one
accompanying adult, for the duration of the
event, with the exception of drop-in events.
Workshops: you do not have to pay
entry to the museums to take part in a
workshop. If you would like to stay and
look around after the activity normal entry
charges will apply.

galleries only a small selection of works
from The Perseus Series by Burne-Jones
will be on display in Gallery 4.
Featuring collections borrowed from
Southampton’s residents and from the
city’s own extensive and diverse holdings
Amassable is a modern day cabinet
of curiosity.
This exhibition explores the stories behind
collections, giving an insight into the
personalities of the people who seek out,
acquire, catalogue, display and care for
their treasures.

Philip Schlee (1924-2001) assembled
the collection, with the assistance of his
brother Nick Schlee, between 1992 and
2004. This extraordinary collection was
generously donated to Southampton
City Art Gallery in November 2012 and
becomes the second largest body of
artwork to be given to the city.

of Titanic continues to fascinate. It’s been
extensively researched, remembered, and
commemorated. When did disaster become
a romance? What lessons were learned?
Should artefacts be salvaged from the wreck
site? These are just some of the questions
asked in this exhibition.

artist Tom Joyce.
Working with pen and ink he creates
meticulously detailed illustrations of
imaginative worlds and scenes of
a comical nature filled with unique
characters.
