In memory of Rich Holtz, former Vice President
Founded in 1940, the American Diabetes Association fights on behalf of the diabetes
community to increase federal funding for diabetes research and programs, improve
comprehensive health care and insurance coverage, and to end discrimination against
children and adults with diabetes.
The Association has funded diabetes research since 1955. Since 1997, the ADA has invested
over $28.5 million in 92 research projects in Michigan. Also in Michigan, the Association
celebrated its 59th year of Camp Midicha, the only residential summer camp in the state
designed for and dedicated to children with diabetes.
We are working to find the cure for and prevention of diabetes and its many health
problems. The Association provides the public and health care professionals with the most
up-to-date information through our National Call Center (1-800-DIABETES) and two websites,
www.diabetes.org and stopdiabetes.com, as well as via monthly consumer and professional
books and periodicals.
Your sponsorship will help fund our research and preventative initiatives, as well as send up
to 30 Michigan children to Camp Midicha.
