WATER CYCLE OBSERVATION SHEET
Directions: Follow your teacher’s directions to create your model of the water cycle.
Record your observations on this sheet. Finally, draw a picture and label your water cycle model.
Step 1: Add gravel, sand and salt water to your bin.
Observe: What did you notice about the water in your model?
Did the water stay in the “ocean”?
Where do you observe water in your model?
Step 2: Use the spray bottle to spray the sand on the top of the mountain.
Observe: What do you observe happening to the sand as you spray it?
What is happening to the water?
Step 3: Place the plastic wrap over the top of the model and place in the sunlight for at least 10 minutes.
