DEAR Headstart Families,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We had so much fun at our Christmas Concert and once again the turnout
was unbelievable. Thank you for all of your help; donating food and/or volunteering your time.
I hope that everyone had a nice holiday with your families. The staff really enjoyed our time
off. We spent some quality time with our families and are rejuvenated and ready for an
exciting New Year.
Regarding the end of the calendar year, I will have your income tax receipts ready for you by
the end of January. You will be notified when they are ready to be picked up.
Thank you --For all of your gifts of time, food and/or presents. Enjoy the New Year!!
Also big congratulations to our Ticket Winners this season: Katie Beck won the LOTTERY
TICKETS, Tara Wheeler won BEST SEATS, and Morgan Kells won BEST SPOT ON THE LOT.

Bookworm News
Welcome Back Everyone! We hope you enjoyed the holidays!
We are very excited for the New Year, we have some new friends joining us which unfortunately
means we have some leaving us! :(
Please be sure to bring in a new supply of diapers and wipes!!
The Bookworms are going to continue working on our self help skills, getting dressed and undressed
for outside and being independent. We are hoping to continue to take advantage of nice weather
and get outside as much as possible, so please makes sure to send appropriate clothing and a change
of clothes every day, thank you. Here's hoping for good weather and safe travelling this winter!

The Little Rainbows
Welcome Back Rainbows
It’s hard to believe that we are once again starting a New Year! We would like to welcome Maeve
Dorion, Nate Curran, Ben Curran, Allison Sabean and Kathryn Sabean to the Rainbow group. Also we
would like to welcome (teacher ) Emma Dunphy back for the month of January. Emma will be filling in
until February when Flo returns. With the New Year we will be embarking on many new adventures,
but all projects and themes will incorporate name and letter recognition (to name a few). We are back
and ready for a busy new year! Let’s Go!!!

The Foxes
Welcome back to a new year ! We hope everyone had a great holiday with their family! The foxes
had a great time doing our neighbourhood project! We learned a lot ! We are now going to be
exploring different learning materials such as science experiments to see if there is any interests
that can turn into a project! We cannot wait to see where our next adventure will lead us in our
learning ! If anyone has any ideas for science experiments to bring to the table send them our
way ! Here's to another great year !

CHILDREN’S NEEDS :
With all the snow/wet weather we have been having, it is a great idea to throw a few extra pairs of
socks and mittens in your child's backpack. We do try to go out every day and sometimes our little
ones end up getting VERY wet feet/hands. Please try to put your child's name on his/her belongings.
Parking Lot News
WE ASK THAT YOU RESPECT THE "ACCESSIBLE PARKING" SPACES. IT IS NOT OK TO PULL IN AND
PARK THERE EVEN FOR "A MINUTE". THESE SPACES ARE NEEDED BY PARENTS FROM BOTH
HEADSTART AND KIDS CONNECTION.
WE ALSO ASK THAT YOU REDUCE YOUR SPEED AND ARE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS IN THE PARKING
LOT. LITTLE ONES IN BIG SNOWSUITS HAVE A HARD TIME MANEUVERING THROUGH THE PARKING
LOT AND, WITH ALL THE SNOW; IT IS SOMETIMES HARD TO SEE THEM!
