Figurative Language Mini-Project This week in ELA we are continuing and finishing up our work with figurative devices. On Monday we looked at Katy Perry’s song “Fireworks” and we also listened to and noted the various figurative language devices within it. We had such an enjoyable time talking about how songs are nothing but poems with music behind them and how the figurative language enhances the various messages in songs. DUE ON THURSDAY, 4- 2-15. The grading period ends on Friday, thus I will NOT accept late work. Students are charged with finding 2-3 songs that they will read through the lyrics and identify the various figurative devices we have covered. - Students working alone only need to find 1 example of each figurative device. Students working with a partner will need to find 2 examples of each figurative device. The poem need to have a main idea/theme and it must include ALL of the figurative language devices.
