Spring PR Camp Out 2016 Objective Spring PR wanted to host a Camp Out in order to target London-based lifestyle media and introduce them to Spring’s portfolio of outdoor brands in a camping and outdoor environment. Concept The event took place in Wareham, Dorset in a field open to the elements. Spring created a convivial environment with camp fire, water stations channeling local river-water and erected tipis about the camp. I’m rather achy this morning thanks to the paddle boarding & sporting a flushed face thanks to the beautiful weather!” – Jodie MacAuley, Gearweare Testimonials James Stewart – freelancer for The Sunday Times, Independent “Just a quick email to say thanks so much for this week. Good group, great kit, brilliant weather and activities all made for a fantastic couple of days' escape. Also, thanks so much to you and Team Spring. You didn't show it too professional for that - but I could see a massive amount of work went into making all that happen.” Chris Haslam – freelancer for national newspapers and lifestyle magazines “I think it is definitely something you should do again. Putting clients and journalists together like that was so refreshing. So often it's just a quick hand shake and a 'gimme a press pack' at a trade show, so to be able to get involved was great. You find out so much more about a brand that way and make connections. Kit that's hard to place in a feature is much easier to work with if you like the person flogging it. All the brands were so generous also, felt very spoiled. Nice people, nice products and bloody lovely weather...what's not to like!!??” Testimonials Joe Cossey – Nikwax “I thought the event was amazing! Everything was planned brilliantly and it was a good opportunity to see other brands and speak to plenty of journalists. Thanks for everything.” Andy MacAuley - Aquapac “I can confirm that it was an excellent event. We had some really good 1:1 time with journalists in a relaxed environment, and there was some really nice feedback from those who already used our gear. You guys put in a huge amount of work organising and herding the kittens, and we appreciate the opportunity.” Simon Robinson - Ardblair “ Judging by the chats I had back at basecamp, there could be some good articles as a result. It was also great to hear everyone saying how comfortable their AKU shoes were! Thank you for organising superb weather (how you did that, amazed everyone!) Let's do it again!” Leki at the Spring PR Camp Out Leki lent journalists Prestige poles to use whilst Nordic walking. All of the journalists thoroughly enjoyed the Nordic walking experience with many surprised how relaxed and fun it was, despite giving their bodies a good work out. Simon, from Ardblair, gave the journalists a thorough tutorial and talk prior to the walk explaining how Nordic walking worked and how to fit the pole to their height. The only downfall was aching triceps the following day! See you again next year!
