Why choose a tipi?
Marquees have been around for donkey’s years
and quite frankly, we’re bored of them! Whatever
event you are planning, big or small, our tipis are
flexible enough to accommodate.
The English word “tipi” comes from the Lakota word
“thipi”, which means a “dwelling”, primarily used by
the nomadic tribes from the Great Plains of America
for hundreds of years, hence the name ‘Big Chief
Tipis’. Today, our tipis, which are Made In Britain by

Our Tipis
Here at Big Chief Tipis we have three different
sizes of tents to suit any size of space you have.
All three are interlinkable too so whether
you fancy a standalone Baby Tipi in your back
garden, or a wedding for 200 people with a Midi
Tipi chillout space added on, any formation is
possible. Our helpful Big Chief Tipis Team will
assist in recommending the correct number of

Big Hat: The Big Chief of our tipi range is the
Big Hat and measures 10.3m in diameter. We

Midi Tipi: Measuring 8.5m in diameter, our Midi
Tipi is the perfect addition to your tipi party. It can

Midi Tipi to create a bit more intimacy with chillout
furniture, mini firepit and a bar.
Baby Tipi: They say that good things come
in small sizes and this is certainly true of the
smallest tipi in our Big Chief family! Our Baby
Tipi measures 6.8m in diameter and is great for
adding onto your tipi configuration to act as a
chillout space complete with log burner and
Moroccan style furnishings, or a children’s area
with brightly coloured cushions and bunting.

This is your special occasion, so we’ll do all that we

Having your wedding in our Big Chief Tipis will

Baby Tipi Parties
We have a soft spot for our Baby Tipis, as they
are so versatile! They are perfectly sized to fit into
most sizes of gardens and can either standalone
or can be added onto a party in our Big Hats. If
you are looking for a luxurious honeymoon suite
or a glamping option for your guests post-party,
we can bring any number of them with us to put
up around the main tipis. It is also great for adding
onto a Big Hat as a Moroccan chillout space or a
children’s play area.
Why not raise the bar by holding your children’s
special occasions in a Baby Tipi dressed up with

bunting, balloons and pompoms in your back
garden? They are particularly popular with
Christenings and 1st Birthday celebrations.

Everyone knows that an outfit isn’t complete
without its accessories, and a tipi is no different.
Add twinkly lights, a fire pit and soft furnishings to
create a cosy feel, or a dancefloor, mirror ball and
bar to get the party started!
We have spent days and nights designing and
manufacturing, in addition to scouring the country
for a selection of unique accessories to make your
party stand out away from the crowd. We can

also provide catering tents, toilets, heaters and
generators, so you don’t have to worry about the
‘boring bits’.
Our huge range of interior and exterior Accessories
ensures that every event we organise is completely
unique from the next.

What’s Next?
1. So you like what you see? Great news! Please
call/email us, or fill out your details on our
contact form online so that we can send you a
personalised quote based on your event.
2. If you are thinking “I would love a tipi, but I
have nowhere to put it” then we may have a
few ideas on this depending on your postcode
so please ask! We have tipis that range in size
from 6.8m to 10.3m diameter so we can find a
tipi to suit most sizes of gardens.
3. Once you’ve confirmed the date and venue and
decided exactly what you want, we’ll come and
meet you face to face, visit your site, measure

up, check access and the type of ground we’ll be
working on, in addition to finding out where the
water & electricity points are.
4. When you’re happy with all the details, we will
send you a booking form and require a 25%
deposit to secure your date.
5. Once you’re booked in, we will put together
a bespoke floor plan and be on hand for the
duration of the time leading up to your big
day to help with any questions you may have.
We can also point you in the right direction of
reputable contacts we have worked with in the
past to help make it a party to remember!
6. One month before your event we will be in touch
to finalise all details, confirm logistics, along with
agreeing setup and set down dates. This is when
the remaining 75% will be due to be paid.
7. We’ll arrive on site around 2-3 days before
your event to set up the tipis, leaving you at
least one day for dressing.
8. Party time!
9. We’ll return 1-2 days after the event to whisk
away all the tents and accessories.
