Online Course Options (ICSD)

Iron County School District Alternative Education
New Credit Online Option
Iron County School District has the ability to provide the High School Community with the opportunity to enroll
in online courses and received graduation credit once those courses have been completed in accordance with State Bill 65.
Students may enroll in online courses for original credit (not recovery or make-up credit). Courses are free to the student
except for certain instances (like Drivers Education). This Public Education Online option would amend the student’s
SEOP plan to facilitate online courses when requested by students or parents. For the current 2011-2012 school year
students may enroll in up to 2.0 course credits under the program. This will increase one credit per year maxing out at 6.0
course credits by the year 2016. In order to enroll in this option, the boundary school’s counselor would need to be
contacted and a referral would need to be made.
Classes are available through the district or other outside providers.
