VALENCY VACANCY • In each turn, the player rolls a six-sided dice, Electron Dice (ED), ranging from 0 to 5, and an eight-sided Charge Dice (CD ) ranging from -3 to 4. • Each player continues from the previous player's place on the periodic table and on the aufbau principle board. • ED minus CD (ED – CD) gives the atomic number, i.e. number of electrons to be filled in the aufbau principle board in each turn. • The player moves their pawn piece to that element corresponding to that atomic number on the periodic table. • If ED plus CD (ED + CD) is equal to the stable atom charge of that element, they can claim it. • Players who complete a shell in the aufbau principle board get the element that their piece is on. • Players get ◦ 6 points for completing a complete shell. (for eg. 4 th shell etc) ◦ 5 points for getting an element of valency 0, +1, -1, or 2. ◦ 3 points for getting an element of valency 5 or 6. ◦ 2 points for getting an element of valency 3 or 4. ◦ 1 point for completing an orbital. (for eg. 4p6) • When the end of the periodic table is reached, the player with the highest total wins.
