Mrs. Cooke’s Got a Problem!
Mrs. Cooke wants to make hot dogs for
her neighbors and family for a Veteran’s
Day cookout. Hot dogs come in packs
of 10 and cost $3 per package, and
buns come in packs of 8 and cost $2 per
package. She doesn’t like to have
leftover hotdogs or buns, so she needs
to buy the same number of both.
 How many packages of hot dogs
and hot dog buns will she need to
buy?
 How much money will it cost her
to buy those packages?
 If she has a $50 bill to spend for
food, will she have enough
money for the hot dogs & buns? If
she doesn’t have enough, how
much more will she need? If she
has enough money, how much
change will she get back?
