HOMEWORK
All homework needs to be
finished each night and returned
the next morning. This is not
only building responsibility but
aiding in their practice of that
day’s skills. Also, ipads need to
be charged nightly in order to
use throughout the next day.
A look back at this week...…
Reading: The students read tall tales this week. We focused
on the following skills: visualizing, synonyms/antonyms, point of
view, and Greek/Latin roots (fals, fall, cert, cred, phob).
Language: We worked on indefinite pronouns (several, all,
everyone, anybody, etc.) and subject-verb agreement.
Additional daily practice was used to help reinforce all 5th grade
language skills.
Writing: The students practiced correcting sentences on their
morning work.
Math: The kids worked on these skills this week: estimate
fraction sums/differences, common denominators/equivalent
fractions, add/subtract fractions, and add/subtract mixed
numbers.
Social Studies: The students learned more about the 13
colonies (New England, Middle, and Southern).
Science: The class began their unit on Life Science. We
looked at the differences between consumers and producers
this week.
