The Environmental Technology Centre
Helping businesses in the East Midlands
Worried about escalating fuel bills?
Concerned about the environment?
Want to know more about technologies & techniques that can
reduce your environmental impacts and save you money?
We can offer funded help to eligible companies
The ETC at the University of Nottingham was established specifically to help
businesses to make improvements through the adoption of more efficient
use of resources, environmentally friendly working practices and the use of
cleaner and more sustainable technologies.
Examples of how the ETC can help include a simple environmental
assessment, an in-depth investigation, or from 2 to 5 days assistance on a
specific initiative.
Because of global concerns this help from our university experts is paid for
by European funding.
Is this for me?
If you are a Small to Medium sized Enterprise (SME) based in the East
Midlands you may qualify for our help. Often tackling environmental issues
can increase efficiency and profitability as well as creating excellent
marketing opportunities through promotion of ‘green’ credentials.
Location
We are based on the ground floor of the Sir
Colin Campbell Building. This is part of the
University of Nottingham Innovation Park on the
award winning Jubilee Campus.

Did you know?
The ETC helped Joseph Clayton & Sons improve their drying facilities. This
led to improved working conditions, increased through-put and considerable
energy and cost savings.
“It is only through the support of organisations like the ETC and EMDA that
small businesses can even contemplate these new technologies. I would
urge any business sharing similar pressures to invite the ETC to help them
overcome their issues. The ETC’s approach is non-judgemental and totally
confidential, so there is nothing at all to worry about by welcoming them to
your businesses.”
