“From Bookroom to Makerspace,” was
informative, creative and down-to-earth.
There were over 40 attendees at their
workshop who gave the highest of praise by
asking great questions during their
presentation, staying afterwards to ask more
questions and asking if they could come and
visit Doyon’s Makerspace. I was so proud of
both of them; it was like being with Rock
Stars!
Homeless and Hunger Initiative
Sock-Hat-Glove Drive
to help the Homeless this winter!
(All donated items will be given to the Starlight Ministries in Boston)
Through November 15th 2016
Please donate new socks, hats, or gloves at the following locations:
Paul F. Doyon Memorial School - Lobby
"See a need...Fill a need"
HATS AND GLOVES ARE ALWAYS NEEDED TO STAY WARM
BUT WHY COLLECT SOCKS FOR THE HOMELESS?
#1
Clothing donations to the homeless rarely include socks
When asking homeless service organizations: What do you need the
most? The answer is consistently…Socks.
#2
Clean, dry socks are important to good health.
Members of the homeless population spend most of their time walking
from place to place, frequently with inadequate socks and poorly fitting
shoes. Health conditions like diabetes, prevalent in the homeless
population, can further complicate the danger of poor foot care to include
skin ulcers, infections and even tissue death.
