Fall Festival Pie Contest Sunday | October 16th | Sylvania, Ohio Guidelines 1. 2. 3. 4. The contest will have two divisions based on age: youth ages 10 – 17 and adult ages 18 and up. Amateur Pie Makers only. Registration fee of $5 per entrant Pie must be made from scratch. No store bought crust or fillings and contain a bottom pastry crust. (no cookie or crumb crusts) 5. Bake pie in disposable pie tin or plate. Nothing will be returned. 6. All pies will be delivered covered with a disposable dome or wrap. 7. Do not write contestants name anywhere on pie tin or wrapping. Each pie will be given a registration number at check in. 8. NO pies that require refrigeration such as custard or cream pies may be entered. Any such pies brought will not be judged. No whipped cream or meringue toppings will be accepted. Pies can be single or double crust. 9. Pies will be accepted starting at 9:30 on Sunday October 16 at the Sylvania Historical Village. All pies must be dropped off by 10:30 the same day to be considered for judging. 10. By entering a pie, contestants give the Fall Festival Committee or its partners the right to photograph them and their pie for promotion purposes. If you are a winning entry, we will ask that you share your recipe for publication. 11. Winners will be announced after judging by 1:00 PM 12. Contestants need not be present during judging but should arrive back at the Village by 2:00 for the awards ceremony. Following the awards ceremony, entrants may take any remaining pie with them.
