Place Value Tips Saying and Reading Numbers Correctly: Make sure your child is pronouncing and reading three and four digit numbers correctly. 243 is pronounced, “two hundred forty-three.” Make sure they are not adding “and” between forty-three. Try this: Write random numbers down or print these number cards and ask your child to read them. Using Base Ten Blocks: Base Ten Blocks help students grasp the value of large numbers.
