Please can parents/carers say their goodbyes at the bottom of the ramp and allow children to walk into school with their teacher and friends. Many thanks FS & KS1 staff KS1 Parents Please could all Year 1 & 2 ensure that they have their outdoor P.E. kit (trainers/plimsolls/ jogging bottoms & jumpers) for next week and onwards – all labelled with your child’s name. Mrs Downie Lollipop Lady Sue Please can parents/carers be aware that our lollipop lady Sue isn’t at the crossing outside the front of school until 8:30am. Therefore any children coming to early school sessions ie Nessy or Spelling Surgery will not be supervised across the road if they walk to school on their own. Building Update It's nearly there!!! As you can see every day our roof is slowly seeing its new tiles being fitted and the builders hope to have completed it by the end of the Easter break - Monday 20th April. At the same time inside the building there have been re-fits for all the classrooms and the corridors are also receiving a make-over. You will have seen this earlier in the week at parents’ evenings. Some of our toilets are having a make-over too and the doors to the hall and other rooms are being replaced/or painted and new handles and seals being fitted. We are looking forward to its completion over this final stretch. Thanks for your continued support and we'll keep you up to date with the progress. Ms Gibby Parents Evening We had two very successful parents evenings this week and hope that you are up to date with your child’s progress and targets. If you wish to talk further or have any other questions then please let your child’s class teacher know. Thank you JM Gibby. Magdala Y3 Year 3 have enjoyed every minute of their three weeks of Magdala workshops. They have written and performed songs, learnt drama techniques and performed to Year 2! They were absolutely amazing! Miss Gregory & Mrs Avison Y3 Visit to Sutton Library Year 3 learnt a lot about Sutton in the past when they visited the library on Tuesday and explored artefacts that have been donated there. Miss Gregory KS2 Reading Strategies Workshop A big thank you to all the parents who came along to our KS2 Reading Strategies Workshop yesterday. Feedback was excellent and I’m very pleased you all found it so helpful. An extra big thank you to the Y5/6 children who helped me demonstrate some of the methods we use in our guided reading sessions – they were great! If you were unable to attend but would like an information booklet containing a range of ideas about supporting your child with their reading, please let me know and I will send one home with your child. Don’t forget to come along to our Learning Super Powers Fair next Thursday! Ms Quarless Comic Relief A huge thank you for all of your kind donations to Comic Relief.
