Each event will take participants through an awe-inspiring journey of scenic bush trails,
forestry roads and farmland. All events will start and finish at the Mokoreta
Community Hall.

In acceptance of my entry form, I do hereby myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigners, release and
forever discharge the organisers, the sponsors, landowners and all persons involved in the conduct of the PaWakaTaka
Trail bike ride and run/walk from all claims or actions whatsoever in any manner arising, out of my participation of this
event. I attest and verify that I am fully aware of the risks involved with participation and that I have no physical or medical
conditions which have the potential to put myself or any other person at risk and that I am sufficiently trained for the event.
I agree to abide by the organisers’ rules as outlined above and at the briefing and accept any decision or direction given
by them. I allow organisers/sponsors to use my name and or photograph for promotional purposes. I do hereby
understand that this course is off road on forestry roads and at times off road on rough terrain with steep descents.

THE COURSE

Pawakataka Trail 40km MTB
Travel gravel roads climbing and descending rarely used forestry tracks with views that
will take you to Bluff. Includes grunty hills, fantastic downhill descents that incorporate
cross-country farmland, forestry tracks, native bush and mud tracks.
Pawakataka Trail 21km MTB or Run
If you feel that you would like to do the ride at a more leisurely pace please tick the
recreational box on the entry form. Run or bike gravel trails climbing and descending
rarely used forestry tracks with views that will take you to Bluff. Includes grunty hills,
fantastic downhill descents that incorporates cross-country farmland, forestry tracks,
native bush and mud tracks.
Pawakataka Relay Run – 7km per leg
Same course as the above Pawakataka Trail Run. Maximum of 3 runners.
Mt Egremont Cross Country – 10km Walk
Mautoroa (Mt Egremont) means long white hill. Run or Walk this historical landmark.
This trail is normally closed to the public so this is a great opportunity to ride, run or walk
this unique course. No Reserve Day. No refunds if the event is cancelled. The
organisers reserve the right to change any or all times in the interest of safety, because
of adverse weather conditions, or unforeseen circumstances.
EVENT/SAFETY INFORMATION:
Confirmation will be emailed to every competitor upon receipt of entry.
Registration – All participants must register on the day to receive their number.
Clothing – Carry suitable clothing for conditions on the day.
Drink – Fluid will be available for runners/walkers. Bikers please ensure you carry enough fluid for your
ride.
Food – We recommend that you carry and consume enough to get you through the event.
Helmets – All cyclists must wear a cycle helmet.
Bike Checks will not be carried out, but please ensure your bike is of a high standard due to nature of the
terrain. Failure to follow the marshal’s instructions or to comply with the race rules will result in
disqualification. First aid will be available on course.
