Girls Swim Team (Gr. K-12)
If you like to swim we are looking for you to become a part of our growing, successful and fun swim
team. Swim Team is open to girls ages 5 to 18 and will run from June 1 to August 1 this summer.
(No swim meets will be scheduled the week of June 28 – July 4.)
Requirements for participation are as follows:
Girls must be able to swim 25 yards.
Practice will be Tuesday and Thursday at the Lakefield Pool from 8:30am to 10am.
Meets usually occur about once per week after the first couple weeks of practice.
Girls compete against other girls in their own age bracket.
Girls will receive swim caps.
Ribbons are earned at every meet.
Cost per girl is $60 if you are already signed up as a Girl Scout and $70 for non Girl Scouts. The
additional $10 registers you as a Girl Scout for insurance coverage purposes. This does not mean you will be
expected to participate in other Girl Scout events. Scholarships may be available.
For those needing rides to and from practice, you can contact the Western Community Action Bus
directly at 1-800-658-2480. We do expect to have bus transportation for meets as it appears that we will
have the 20 girls required for transportation services.
We will be holding a Parent/Swimmer Information Meeting on Monday, April 27 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
at the JCC Middle School. More detailed information on practice and meet dates, cost, team events, transportation, etc. will be provided at that time. This will be a good time to meet the coaches and parents who will
be helping with Swim Team this summer, get to know your fellow swimmers and have your questions answered.
Swimmers will also be voting on their team color and their “Team” T-Shirt design. Mark your calendar!
To register for the Parent/Swimmer Information Night or to register for the Swim team sponsored
by the Girl Scouts: Contact: Susan Pietz at 507-662-6309 or Melissa Brunk at 712-320-6786.
