Took a lot of action in the debut
and actually ran quite well for 2nd
to comeback 200k Melair stakes
winner, Enola Gray. Homebred is
working nicely for her comeback
and picks up Castellano for this.
She’ll be flying into this very late.
Trainer doesn’t win often with 1st
timers and this one is probably a
better play underneath. She does
have a big win early pedigree and
works are decent. Sib won 124k

PICK: #8 APOLLO TEN (7-2)
Been sprinting for a long time but
does have a 6 for 8 in the money
record at the distance. There is a
lot of speed in here and he might
be rolling from far back. Last was
his first time at this level and he
was really moving well late there.
VALUE: #9 HAWK’S EYES (4-1)
Very nice training job to get him a
win going long after 2 sprints as
a prep. Has the right style for this
and keeps Pereira. He misses the
break often. Outside post helps.

Very possibly didn’t like being on
the inside in last. Was steadied
early but re-rallied and was very
game to the end. All the clockers
are saying he is working sharply
right now. Top connections here.
Love him cutting back outside.
Was off slow in last and never got
into the race. He handled the turf
well when 2nd in a 100k stakes.
One of two here for Hollendorfer.
This is the late runner of the two.

Off since a huge mdn win. Was on
the Derby Trail, being pointed to
the San Vincente but something
went wrong. Been outworking G3
stakes winner, Lord Nelson (3rd
to Runhappy in the G1 Malibu).
Baffert good with comebackers.
Good enough to run 2nd to a very
talented runner, Kentuckian, in
the G3 Laz Berrera. He may just
be prepping here but pace will be
fast. May tag some tired up foes.

Last time Hollendorfer had a big
debut winner at LRC come back
in an opt clm race was recent G3
winner, I Will Score. He won that
opt clm. This one was bet down to
4-5 in the debut and was never in
doubt. Smart worktab coming in.
Overachiever has 3 wins in last 5
starts and all came at long odds.
He has good speed but has been
able to sit just off which may be a
good thing here. Exotics player.

Decent run when facing 40k last
time out. Winner came back for a
good 3rd at 7-1 on Sunday when
in with allw foes. Drops here but
was only a 29k purchase so this
is acceptable. Trainer looking for
a win. Normally a much better %.
She is much the best in this spot.
The runners she was facing in Fr
were so superior. 9th in the Prix
de L’Opera two back was Queen’s
Jewel, third in the BC F&M Turf.
Ran on as easily 2nd best behind
Tepin last. Really lays over these.

Didn’t run poorly in the debut at
56-1 at Del Mar. He was passing
them in the lane. Forget the turf
2 back. Poor trip in last. Winner
ran well in Cal-bred stakes since.

She needed more ground in last
start and didn’t get going until it
was too late. Now at the distance
she prefers. Espinoza rode her to
G2 win 5 back. Runs w/ top pick.

So many of these are coming off
a break, including this one. She
has run well on the turf (2nd to G1
winner Prize Exhibit) and won for
fun at distance. She’s working
better than anyone (made up 10
lengths on workmates on 5-20).
2nd to Ky Derby runner-up Firing
Line, in the debut. He’s 2 for 3 at
the 6.5F distance. Ran well fresh
last year. Attracts top rider here.
Respect despite the so-so works.

Claimed by this very high % outfit
and he ran a career best first off
the claim. Diodoro is 5 for 8 with
2nd time off the claim here in So
Cal when the runner won first off
the claim and back for a tag. He
won with a similar 32k recently.
Previous connections took him in
the last start after they lost him
in the start prior. Ran well for 2nd
behind top choice. 2 for 3 at the
distance. Best closer in the race.

Love anything on the turf by this
sire, Fort Prado. This is clearly a
turfer as he didn’t run a step in
either dirt race. Big 3rd to Beach
Patrol, who was beaten a nose in
the G2 American Turf on Ky Dby
undercard. Passes them all late.
Was 3 behind the top pick in the
MSW won by Beach Ptrl. Blinks
come off here. Has more tactical
speed than the top choice. Nose
from 3rd after pressing fast pace.
