Livelink iRIMS 3.0.2 does not require speech input for access to any application functionality. • Livelink iRIMS 3.0.2 is used with readily available Web browsers and works in conjunction with accessibility features found in the operating system or assistive aid available for use with the Web browser. • For example, when the StickyKeys feature in the Microsoft Windows operating environment is on, the user can press a modifier key (SHIFT, CTRL, or ALT) and then another key in sequence (rather than at the same time) to enter shifted (modified) characters and other key combinations. Pressing a modifier key once latches the key down until the user presses a non-modifier key or clicks a mouse button. Pressing a modifier key twice locks the key until the user presses the key a third time. • The FilterKeys accessibility feature allows the user to set the keyboard repeat rate, acceptance delay, and bounce rate. Page 11 Section 508 Voluntary Product Accessibility Template for Livelink iRIMS 3.0.2 Subpart D – Information, Documentation, and Support Section 1194.41 – Information, Documentation, and Support Criteria Supporting Features Remarks and explanations 1194.41 (a) Product Support Documentation Supported. Documentation is provided in HTML and PDF formats for customers. 1194.41 (b) Accessibility and Compatibility Features Supported. Livelink iRIMS 3.0.2 includes extensive help file documentation in HTML format, including any accessibility and compatibility features. An individual may access and view help file topics online or may select a topic for printing. 1194.41 (c) Support Services Supported. The primary means of customer support information is the Open Text Knowledge Center, which is a Web site that is based on the Livelink product. Open Text is introducing guidelines and standards that will govern the design and preparation of content so that it conforms to the Section 508 technical standards. Access to Open Text Customer Support personnel is provided by telephone and email. Individuals who are hearing impaired may request access via a TTY relay service at no additional charge. Page 12 Section 508 Voluntary Product Accessibility Template for Livelink iRIMS 3.0.2 Additional Remarks This statement describes the compliance of the Livelink iRIMS 3.0.2 software product with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act accessibility standards and outlines plans for addressing non-compliance issues. The assessment of compliance is based on an external and internal assessment of Livelink iRIMS 3.0.2 with the Keyboard Accessible Menus enabled. A component of this product is dependent on Livelink 9.1 (core) for some of its compliance characteristics and cannot be made to conform until Livelink itself is conformant. The remediation of non-compliant areas will be made in service packs and/or maintenance releases that follow the release of Livelink 9.1 (core). Typically, the first service pack is issued approximately six months after the initial product release. Maintenance releases are issued for features that cannot be changed by a service pack. Maintenance releases of the module code are also released with new versions of Livelink and/or iRIMS. Certain interface elements are non-compliant because they lack tags or titles required only for assistive technology. Open Text plans to modify the standard product to include these tags; however, tags and titles can be added to these elements using the standard Livelink Software Development Kit. The iRIMS localization tools were not included in the assessment. It is expected that the same compliance characteristics that exist for the iRIMS application exist for the iRIMS localization tools. Note that alternate application interfaces that provide access to information managed by the iRIMS repository exist in the form of integrated products. These integrated interfaces include the iRIMS Filing Bin, which requires Microsoft Windows Explorer, and the iRIMS Outlook plug-in, which requires Microsoft Outlook, for operation. The assessment includes an assumption that the standard Microsoft Windows Accessibility options can be employed by individuals for whom those options were designed.
