This is a great opportunity to work with the Octagon Theatre’s Artistic team and run and support Youth Theatre groups to develop their drama skills and produce high quality productions. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Plan and deliver various Octagon Youth Groups: o Direct Youth Theatre productions and projects working in collaboration with the Production department and other colleagues throughout the year. o Devise and deliver youth theatre sessions for all ages (5 through to 25). o Manage the scheduling of room/space requirements and equipment. o Manage internal communication about projects across the organisation. o Manage the recruitment and enrolment of participants. o Manage the reporting and information collection as necessary. Act as Assistant Director on main auditorium productions as required Act as an Artistic and Administrative Assistant on a range of theatre projects as required by the RTYDS Director Produce and create high quality theatre workshops Contribute to the overall Artistic Team planning of the Octagon Theatre including attendance at internal meetings and leading on particular areas of development and/or relationships. Work with the Communications Team to promote and market youth theatre programmes and attendance to Octagon productions. Support the facilitation of work experience placements at the Octagon. Work in the best interests of the Octagon and in accordance with company policies including health and safety, safeguarding and IT. Be an effective representative of the Octagon in all situations and demonstrate the highest level of customer care and service. The main duties and responsibilities are indicative and not exhaustive. Hours: 40 hours per week. No overtime is payable, but time off in lieu for excess works can be agreed with the line manager. Flexible working will be required including evenings, weeks and public holidays. Holiday Entitlement: 20 days per annum plus bank holidays pro rata Place of work: Octagon Theatre, Bolton but may include local and national travel There will be a one month probationary period during which notice will be one week either side, thereafter, one month’s notice either side.
