Merit Badge Madness

Once again the Arrowhead District will host a one day merit badge program giving Boy Scouts an opportunity
to earn several merit badges. Merit Badge Madness is open to all districts. Check in begins at 7:30am,
(everyone must check in) classes begin promptly at 8:05am.

Note: As courses fill to capacity, notification will be posted on the Arrowhead website. Please
check the website for course availability.
Merit Badges Offered
Automobile Maintenance, Citizenship in the Community; Nation; and World, Electricity,
Communications, Electricity, First Aid, Genealogy, Geocaching, Orienteering, & Surveying.

Prerequisites. Please read the Merit Badge Handbook. Prerequisites will be required for most merit badges.
Please see the list of prerequisites below.
Blue Cards & Merit Badges. Scouts must bring their own Blue Cards with the appropriate signatures and
prerequisites completed. Merit badges will not be given out but must come from the Scouts own unit.
Unit Leaders. Each registered unit must keep a qualified leader at the event until all members of the unit have
departed. For the safety of our youth and the protection of the facility, leaders will be asked to assist with
event monitoring in hallways, parking lot, and the perimeter of buildings.
Food is not included in the cost of registration. There will be a concession stand at the activity with a variety
of food and beverages for a cost. If this is not practical for your scout it is recommended that you bring a bag
lunch.

Prerequisites
Note to scouts and leaders regarding prerequisites. To earn a merit badge at Merit Badge Madness all
prerequisites listed for the merit badges you have registered for must be completed and evidence of
completion must be shown to the counselor. If no evidence is provided to the counselor, you may not receive
a signature for those prerequisites and therefore may not complete the requirements needed to earn the
merit badge. It is also recommended that the Scout read the Merit badge Handbook.

Rules
1.
No food or drink, except water, in the classrooms.
2.
No desks, chairs, or tables may be moved within the classroom without the assistance of the facility
manager.
3.
Scouts must not go into any desk or play with any items on the shelves, floor, etc. in any classroom. These
are the personal items of the students of Holy Family School.
4.
Scouts and Scouters will police the rooms, hallway, bathrooms, parking lot, etc. after each session.
5.
Fans may be turned on and windows may be opened but all must be turned off and closed before leaving.
6.
Scouts and Scouters will respect any blackboards marked “DO NOT ERASE.” If blackboards are used. They
must be erased before departure.
7.
Scouts and Scouters will respect the bingo players and workers (From about 3 pm to MBM closing). Bingo
begins at 6:30 pm.
8.
Scouts should not leave the building unless chaperoned.
9.
All trash must be placed in trash bags and placed in the dumpster.
10. Any spills must be cleaned up. Clean up equipment is available.
11. If anything is broken or damaged, these items must be reported to the facilities coordinator as quickly as
possible.
12. Scout rules for child protection must be observed.
13. Any injuries will be reported to Health and Safety.
14. School telephones are to be used for urgent needs or emergencies only.
