UNIFORM
Students at Humberston Academy are expected to wear full school uniform at all times, maintaining high standards
of dress around the school. Their smart attire is commented on by visitors and students wear their uniform proudly
on external visits.








Plain white shirt or blouse
Academy tie or scarf (available from the Academy office)
Black blazer with red/black lining and Academy badge.
Plain black tailored straight legged trousers. (not taper in below the knee. Tight, slim or skinny fit trousers are
not acceptable). Please be aware that some high street school uniform departments sell skinny trousers; these
are not acceptable. Please see examples on the school website.
Plain black keen length Academy skirt (no more than 5cm above the knee)
Grey V-neck jumper with red stripe (jumpers do not have to be worn; they are an optional part of the uniform)
Shoes must be smart, plain and black. Trainers, plimsolls and canvas shoes are not part of the school uniform.

Jewellery and Make Up





One plain stud earing in each /either ear may be worn, but these must be removed when staff deem it necessary
e.g P.E.
No nose /eyebrow/tongue or any other form of body piercing are permitted and no other face or body jewellery
/accessories allowed.
Plain, black belt. No large belts, buckles or studded/patterned belts.
Subtle make up only.
No nail varnish is allowed (this includes acrylic or gel nails).
Hair




Long hair to be tied back in practical lessons and whenever required by staff.
Hairstyles must not be extreme, vivid or two-toned colours.
Hairstyles must not be shorter than a number 1 razor setting, no patterns cut into hair,
No extensions that do not match natural hair colours and no beaded braids.
If adjudication is necessary on matters involving uniform, standard of dress and/or appearance, any decision is at the
Principal’s discretion.
