Paul Windwood started basketmaking in 1975. He makes traditional willow baskets
using the range of natural colours available in English willows, and is an experienced
tutor.
Course details: By the end of the day each participant will have gone from being a
beginner to completing their own, unique, round fruit basket similar to the one above.
After learning how to make a round base, we will then add the side stakes, side up in
English randing using a contrasting coloured willow, and finally lay down the border.
During the day Paul will talk about willow growing and preparation, and the history of
basket making.
This class is limited to 6 places to allow for individual tuition during the day. The class
fee included all materials and specialist equipment.
What to bring: sharp secateurs and a 4lb weight if you have them.
Refreshments: Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.
Parking: The Digby Hall has an adjacent public car park. Discounted parking tickets
are available from the machine inside the Digby Hall.
