Tech Mahindra’s approach to application delivery is as critical to its clients as
the applications themselves. It helps clients address today’s key application
development challenges: time-to-market, costs, and quality. As Ashish confirms,
“The way we build software, the speed at which we build it, and the quality that we
deliver has a direct impact on our clients and their business.”
To continue to deliver on its speed, quality, and cost promises, Tech Mahindra is
rapidly expanding its approach to application delivery, moving towards a DevOps
model. The DevOps approach promises to deliver greater time-to-market, cost
reduction, and application quality benefits by emphasizing collaboration between
software developers and IT operations. “Our previous approach meant our
development, testing, and release teams were working in silos, making planning
and co-ordination more time-consuming,” adds Ashish.
Tech Mahindra needed a comprehensive, proven DevOps solution that would
underpin its new approach to software development and help reduce infrastructure
costs and the number of faults in the live production environment.
“The solution needed to be easy to implement and to adapt for future needs while
also providing a quantifiable return on investment,” comments Ashish.

Tech Mahindra implemented CA Service Virtualization during the summer of 2014.
“It was easy to adapt to the CA Technologies solution,” reveals Ashish.
Ashish comments, “Our long-standing relationship with CA Technologies meant we
were confident of easy access to technical support and a center of excellence that
could provide innovative solutions to address our requirements. We also knew
CA Technologies would provide competitive pricing and strong innovation.”
Tech Mahindra’s development, test, and operations teams use CA Service
Virtualization for virtualizing Web Services, databases, messaging services, and
mainframes.
“Our clients need to be confident that we will deliver applications that can cater to
thousands or millions of their customers on day one,” explains Ashish. “To ensure the
performance of that application, we must test it in an environment that mimics the
behaviour, data, and performance of the live system. CA Service Virtualization allows
us to test in environments that are otherwise not available in the real world.”
Tech Mahindra and CA Technologies are also working on a number of joint solutions
that will improve managed services and performance testing. For example, Tech
Mahindra has launched a modular Enterprise Managed Network Service (mEMS)
platform – a cloud-based framework that enables network managers to grow and
adapt their infrastructure without compromising performance.
