About WizLAN
With the development and facilitation of service applications,
traditional broadband telecommunications markets have branched
out, creating a need for specialized products, with enhanced
features and advanced management and control capabilities. Rising
to this challenge, WizLAN is launching a newly segmented platform
of solutions tailored to specific market and technology requirements
for Metro Connectivity, Residential Access, Office Access, Control &
Security, and Industrial Connectivity.
In this issue of WizLAN News, the company introduces its focused
solutions, announces new products and end-of-sales for older
products.
Focus on Metro Connectivity
WizLAN’s Metro Connectivity products are a valuable investment for
service operators. They provide a professional, reliable and robust
infrastructure for metro connectivity, and ensure high availability of
services and security.
WizLAN’s Metro Connectivity products include the reliable Media
Wizard fiber optic connectivity centers (with a new look!), WizLAN’s
newly designed Wiz-Metro line of ruggedized Telco grade products,
and selected Wiz-Lite-Managed products. Geared for leased links,
last mile access, point-to-point, daisy chain and ring fiber optic
networks, these products provide enhanced functionality, advanced
security and control capabilities, and in/out-of-band management
access.

Focus on Office Access
In the modern office environment, where each person uses several
LAN devices simultaneously (IP telephone, laptop, workstation and
shared network devices), there is a growing demand to bring
multiple access ports to the desk. WizLAN’s Office Access products
offer a cost effective distributed network architecture solution.
Utilizing a single link to the network center you create bandwidth
aggregation and efficiently lower the cost of network ownership.
Products include a choice of access devices and installation
switches for wall/cable trunks and sub-floor tanks. They offer
multiple access ports, daisy chaining, advanced management,
access control, and PoE support. The Media Wizard modular
connectivity centers and Wiz-Stack multiple conversion devices take
care of the corporate network center.
WizLAN also continues to support a range of AS400 products for
traditional organizations.

Focus on Residential Access
WizLAN’s Residential Access products offer reliable service
orientated devices, providing different levels and combinations of
services. They will bring service operators to the forefront of the
LAN to Home market, by offering subscribers a greater number of
services, including broadband access, IP telephony, traditional and
digital TV and home alert services. This suite of self contained
devices and residential access units support management features
that can significantly reduce upgrade, maintenance and installation
costs.
Features include built-in firewall and router, direct access broadband
ports (with VLAN support), an integrated SIP Gateway, F/O CATV
receiver and additional service connections used to send SNMP
traps to alert a call center in the event of a break-in to the home, fire,
flooding, or an emergency call.

Focus on Control & Security
WizLAN Control & Security products provide a sophisticated, wide
span fiber optic network infrastructure for toll roads; traffic control,
security and surveillance systems supported by broad network IP
based applications.

Focus on Industrial Connectivity
WizLAN’s offerings for the industrial and extended network
environment are based on robust industrial technology, with
different versions supporting extended temperature range 0°C-60°C
(ETR), industrial temperature range -20°C-70°C (IND), or MIL-Spec
capabilities.
These products are available with advanced link verification
features, fiber protection and remote management capabilities.
