Dear Park Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for your patience during these challenging winter months. With extreme cold
and regular snowfall, arrival and dismissal continues to be a stressful time for everyone.
Some ways we can continue to improve our process and maintain the highest levels of
safety for students are: following the arrival and dismissal traffic patterns, carpooling with
neighbors to reduce amount of cars, and keeping name signs in the passenger side car
window to help staff efficiently facilitate dismissal.
During the week of February 14th, you are invited to meet your child(ren)ʼs teacher(s) during
Parent Teacher Conferences. In order to arrange conference times that best meet the
needs of all of our parents, students will be dismissed at noon on Thursday, February 17
and there will be no school on Friday, February 18. The teachers look forward to meeting
with you regarding your childʼs learning. In addition, there is no school on Monday,
February 21 for Presidentsʼ Day.
At our first of conferences, parents and teachers established goals for the children. At our
second set of conferences many of the students are invited to be part of student-involved
conferences. By including the students in the conference they are able to share their
learning with you and receive immediate feedback about their progress. Please look for
information from your childʼs teacher for specific details. As always, if you need additional
information or time to speak with your childʼs teacher, please let them know.
The support you offer your children and the staff at Park is greatly appreciated. Your
thoughts regarding your childʼs learning are valued. If you have any questions, please do
not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
Craig Keer

2011/2012 CCSD#46 Birthday Treat Policy:
For the 2011/2012 School Year we will be implementing a healthy change with regard to
birthday celebrations. In an effort to help encourage and maintain a healthy lifestyle, we are
beginning an alternate birthday treat plan for the 2011-2012 school year. In lieu of treats such
as cupcakes, brownies, doughnuts, etc., we will celebrate with a non-food celebration.
We ask that you consider one of the following options:
-Ask your child to pick out a book to donate to library. Time will be set aside to share the
book in class on your childʼs birthday.
-If your child wishes to bring a special something for each child in their class, please limit
it to “non-edible” options. Examples include: pencils, stickers, bookmarks, erasers, etc.
Coke Rewards:
Weʼve started collecting Coke Rewards Codes for the school. If you buy coke products and
would like to help us earn free "stuff" just save your codes from the 12-pack and 24-pack
boxes or 20 oz. bottle caps and send them to the office. Proceeds will be used to support
The Wolvesʼ Way, our positive behavior program.
