Other Matters to Note
Monday: No school for students! Teachers get to be
students for the day, instead. However, this would be a
great day to spend a little extra time on spelling and math
fact practice or to finish up the reading log. Don’t forget to
have a little fun too.
I have noticed a lot of students with coughs lately. It is
okay to send a water bottle and/or cough drops with your
child, if you wish. However, students should not be
requesting or supplying other students with cough
drops. I do not generally keep a class supply of them
either.
Fall has arrived and the weather can fluctuate greatly. It
is a good idea to provide layers for your child to peel off or
add, as needed. If the day turns chilly or windy, we cannot
loan headgear due to lice concerns, so consider having a
cap stashed in the backpack or locker. Some students are
discovering that the grass is wet in the mornings and
results in wet socks if they have tennis shoes with mesh.
Consider having spare socks in the backpack or locker as
well.
Reminder: Don’t forget to request October 17th off from
work if you plan to accompany your child on the fieldtrip to
Uncle Bill’s Pumpkin Farm in Grinnell.
